OVERVIEW

Scuba Diver is the NAUI basic entry level scuba certification course. It provides the fundamental knowledge and skills to scuba dive. Graduates are considered competent to engage in open water diving activities without supervision, provided the diving activities and the areas dived approximate those of training.

PREREQUISITES FOR ENTERING THE CLASS

Minimum age: 15 years old for Scuba Diver Class.
Diver Certification: None required.
Skill: Ability to swim
Medical Evaluation and Physician Approval Form

FEE FOR CLASS

Instructor Fee: $250 (for instruction in class room 6-12hr, pool 12hr, ocean 8 dives, and pool gear use )
extra $100.00 per dive for semi privet 2-4divers (we set schedule)
extra $340.00 per diver for private class one on one
Material Fee: $79.95 Student Package (NAUI book, work book,1 video tape, 2 audio tapes, NAUI dive table, and dive log book)
$25 photo certification card.
Rental Fee: Approx. $80-$120 each weekend ocean dive gear(2 tanks /REG./ BC./weight belt)
Personal Gear Purchase: Approx. $200-$400 (mask/snorkel/gloves/boots/fins/light/dive slate)
Make-up $25hr + expenses (15min late or missed classes)

Standard Class: Starts first Monday or Tuesday of each month or as listed on class info. Class 3weeks M-W or T-TH 6:30pm to 9:30pm

OPEN WATER DIVES

The minimum number of open water dives is five. They may be all scuba dives or one skin dive and four scuba dives. No more than two scuba dives may be made on a single day during the course. Open water training may be completed in two days with a skin dive and two scuba dives on one day and two additional scuba dives on the other day. All open water training must take place during day light hours. Sixty feet (18 m) is the maximum depth for any open water training dives during the course.
